What is the best job in the world?

As we have been posting, Tourism Australia’s recent Best Job in the World competition has been incredibly popular around the world. It’s now in the finalist stage with the winners to be announced on June 21st.

The competition included six incredible jobs in Australia including: Chief Funster, Outback Adventurer, Park Ranger, Taste Manager, Wildlife Caretaker and Lifestyle Photographer.

In anyone’s books these jobs do sound pretty cool. But what’s your vote? What do you think is the best job in the world?

According to Tourism Australia the best job in the world involves gazing at sunsets, patting koalas, diving with seals, tasting great wine and food and living down under. We’re guessing you probably agree with them! If you did you may have been one of the 330,000 entrants to their recent competition, the Best Job in the World, you may even have been one of the 18 selected as a finalist!

Not only are the winter months in NZ a great time to get your boarding/skiing legs pumping into action, but it’s also a great time to see world class events such as the world heli championships, the North Face Freeski open, some gnarly BMX action and even a Jaffa race down the steepest street in the world – we kid you not! (Jaffas are orange coated chocolate balls made by Cadbury).

Best job in the world – the shortlisted applications

If yoThe Best Jobs in the World Logou were one of the 30,000 hopefuls in the recent round of Australia’s “best job in the world” openings, then you will want to check out the short listed applications that went live yesterday.

Positions available included chief funster, lifestyle photograph, outback adventurer, park ranger, taste manager and wildlife caretaker in six of Australia’s states and territories. Applicants had 30 seconds to indicate in a video why they were the best person for the job. Click here to see the successful applicants.
