World Cup fever

Ole Ole Ole! The World Cup starts today and we know there will be a lot of sleep deprived people over the next few weeks as a result.

VIP Backpackers will be joining the crowds here in Australia to support the Socceroos at all times of the night – and these are late, scheduled for 12pm or 4am – eek!

Even if you’re far from home, we still want you to get on board with us.

VIP Backpackers hostels around Australia will be showing live coverage of the games on big screen TVs! If you’re in Brisbane, Byron Bay, Cairns, Fremantle, Hervey Bay, Perth, St Kilda or Sydney, you can join all the fun. Check out full details here.

If you’re not in these locations, then check out the SBS programing for Australian television so you can keep up with the action.

In the meantime, as the flavour of the World Cup should have spread just about everywhere, use this as a chance to support your team.

Send in your messages of support, stories or photos of your team.

If we don’t hear from you, we’ll think it means just one thing – go Socceroos!

  1. Well Bafana Bafana still rules as far as I’m concerned, but I say go any of the underdogs – Australia, New Zealand, or even Portugal… it’s going to be good whatever happens
