With New Year’s Eve just around the corner, it’s time to make some serious plans about what you’re going to do. It’s not too late to plan out an end of year bash to remember. So pack your confetti and consider these five locations … and remember they are all cities where we have VIP accommodation!

Wishing you a Happy Christmas and New Year from the VIP Backpackers Blog!

1. New York City, USA
There’s plenty going on in the Big Apple come New Year’s Eve – you could do the midnight run through Central Park or see the classic Ball Drop in Time’s Square with a million other revelers. Simply being in New York at this time is party enough so get over there now while there’s still time!
2. Koh Samui, Thailand
In Thailand you get to celebrate New Year’s Eve twice, one on December 31st with all the other foreign tourists and where better to celebrate on one of Thailand’s best islands?! And secondly at Songkran, the traditional Thai new year – April 13-15.

3. Sydney, Australia
Head down to Sydney Habour for one of the world’s most amazing fireworks displays. You’ll have to get there early for a good seat, bring your own chair, esky with food and drinks and plan for a good day out.

4. London, England
The place to be in London for New Year’s Eve is at the London Eye on the South Bank. The free fireworks display begins just after Big Ben chimes the midnight hour. Watch from Westminister Bridge if you can or the north embankment of the Thames.

5. Copacabana, Brazil
This famed beach in Rio de Janeiro is one of the best places to see the new year in. Not only are the fireworks fantastic but the Brazilians sure know how to party – meaning you’ll get a great taste of celebratory style South American culture as well!
