Be part of the Zumba World Record attempt in Cairns

On Tuesday, February 21 at 3pm you are cordially welcome to join in the attempt to break the Guinness Book of Records for the most number of participants in a Zumba fest.

The record is currently 2012 participants, while the Australian record sits at 1400. Cairns is hoping to get more than 2000 and have a crack at the record. So head on down to Fogarty Park for your chance to join history.

If you need some practice or still want a Zumba experience another time do note the Cairns Regional Council does have classes twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays on the Cairns Esplanade. See for details.

Here’s the media release about the Zumba attempt:

And an excerpt for those that don’t know what Zumba is!!

Zumba is a trademarked exercise program that involves movement to Latin-inspired music. The dance-based program can cater for various fitness levels and has a primary aim of achieving a cardio workout in a fun, social environment. The routine for the world record attempt will be beginner level. No experience is needed to be a part of the record attempt – just a willingness to follow the steps to the individual’s own ability

Don’t forget either we have plenty of accommodation in Cairns for your stay and plenty of great activities from sailing trips, snorkelling and diving to fishing, rainforests and walks.
