Hot off the press is our newsletter roundup of festivals and events happening in Australia and New Zealand in 2013.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras – Plenty of razz and dazzle hits Sydney for this event celebrating all kinds of sexuality. It in the parade on the first Saturday in March with floats, parties and performances.


Canberra Comedy Festival – Split your sides at these local, Australian and international acts. Held over seven days.

Sydney Royal Easter Show – The annual Easter show in Sydney is one of the biggest in the country. With showbags, carnival rides, livestock and plenty of entertainment its family friendly and fun for everyone. Held over the Easter week.

East Coast Blues and Roots Music Festival, Byron Bay – Held the Easter weekend every year this is a real feast of music for those who love rhythm, soul, funk and blues.


Anzac Day commemorative wreath - www.visitedplanet.comMelbourne International Comedy Festival – Starting late March and running most of April this month long event features the best of local and international comedy acts at venues around the city.

Arrowtown Autumn Festival – Quaint Arrowtown comes to life every Autumn with entertainment, vintage cars, food and more in picturesque settings.

Anzac Day – A national holiday commemorated in Australia and New Zealand on April 25 to acknowledge the sacrifice of the original ANZAC troops (Australia New Zealand Army Corps) during WWI. It has now been extended to acknowledge all who have fought for the nations during war time.


Canberra International Music Festival – For all things classical listen to some of the world’s best orchestral and percussion at iconic places in the national capital. Held over nine days.

Urban Country Music Festival, Caboolture – If you missed the Tamworth event go to Caboolture instead for three days of Country Music over the May long weekend.
