Our latest newsletter is now online featuring all the sweet things winter brings to New Zealand.
Not only are the winter months in NZ a great time to get your boarding/skiing legs pumping into action, but it’s also a great time to see world class events such as the world heli championships, the North Face Freeski open, some gnarly BMX action and even a Jaffa race down the steepest street in the world – we kid you not! (Jaffas are orange coated chocolate balls made by Cadbury).
For all this and more check it out here.

The Melbourne Cup is another one of those Aussie traditions that you simply have to join in – along with Anzac Day, Australia Day and the annual cricket tests (seriously, give the game a chance!) If you didn’t know it was on today keep reading to find out what all the fuss is about or you’ll be surprised when everyone disappears to watch the telly at 3pm.
Basically the Cup is a horse race for thoroughbreds. But it’s not just any old horse race, this one’s a big deal with over $6.2M in prize money. The race is 3200m and for horses over three years old, plus it’s handicapped, so it starts to get a bit interesting when you consider all that.
Even if you’re not a surfer, this list of great places on the east coast will be fantastic for the sun or beach lover. It also features some of the most beautiful coastal areas to visit. We’ve listed a smattering of places up and down the coast, feel free to write in and add more!
We know it’s getting a little cooler in Australia at the moment, but it won’t dissuade northern hemisphere types used to colder waves and many locations on the east coast you can surf all year round thanks to wonderful balmy winter temperatures. Anyway, you might not happen on our blog until summer anyway!
Locations feature Bells Beach, Bondi Beach, Byron Bay, Noosa and Kirra… so pack your shorts, swimmers and your board and read on…
